We had a lovely time at the lodge, it’s in a beautiful area and it’s very spacious, cosy and well-equipped. We needed somewhere ‘accessible’ for my elderly father, and this really did the trick. Our energetic English Pointer loved exploring the enclosed outdoor area too!
Verified Guest
Outstanding accommodation in a lovely quiet area. The lodge is fully furnished to a very high standard, warm and inviting. The grounds are dog friendly in every way. Stuart is a very helpful and discreet host, and has thought of everything - and definitely wins the prize for the best hamper!

Our rating would probably be 4/5 stars. Overall the property, facilities and accommodation were well presented and the location peaceful. . We very much enjoyed our stay.

Lovely house beautifully presented. Wide doorways, open space, level access and high beds made it more accessible to my husband who uses a wheelchair

From the moment we arrived at Downbridge Lodge, we were really pleased. The lodge is peaceful, our son loved the outdoor games room, and the welcome package of high quality products were much appreciated. The rooms were set out nicely, the complementary toiletries were lovely. We loved the fire pit/BBQ, and to just relax in the garden. Stuart came to check that we were ok, and that everything was ok. We had some lovely walks round Hoxne, there is a cafe not far from the lodge, Greengold cafe, the owner was lovely. We had everything we needed at the lodge. The lodge is easy to find, a great location, there is lots to explore in the surrounding areas, and there is some great history in the village, see the bridge as you arrive at the village. Many thanks to Stuart for our stay in what we all said was a wonderful place, where we made lots of memories

A spotlessly clean, well appointed and very nicely furnished property within easy reach of many of Suffolk’s most popular tourist attractions. The property owner lives next door and is available to respond immediately to any issues ( we didn’t have any!) Website details need to be updated to reflect that there is no longer a Post Office , shop or deli in the village. The local pub was welcoming and provided decent meals at reasonable prices. Can highly recommend.
Verified Guest
A very well appointed cottage not to far from coast or other at places of interest.

Throughly enjoyable stay, the accommodation is wonderful clean quiet and lovely gardens to relax in. Nice little hamper on arrival. Couldn’t have wished for better. Little details in this property made it have that luxurious touch.Would love to return. Short drive to diss which is probably the nearest town.

The property was excellent, however the only pub in the village had lost its alcohol licence and the only general store had closed down.
Verified Guest
Lovely lodge. Very clean and comfortable. Facilities very good too. The owner came over to greet us when we arrived and told us about the community day on the last day of our stay. I would be very happy for a return visit

We absolutely loved our stay at this lodge. It's a great location, beautifully presented and had everything we needed. The local pub does really good food and you can walk from the house along a footpath to get there. The garden at the house is huge and completely enclosed which was perfect for our dog. The outside games area with the table tennis table, dart board and table football was a big hit with the children. We would definitely recommend staying here!
Verified Guest
Absolutely lovely place to stay. Well appointed and comfortable and a super sunny courtyard to relax in after a busy day sightseeing. Delightful village.
Verified Guest
Amazing holiday accommodation. As advertised - even better. Lovely weather during our stay.
Verified Guest
Perfect, convenient location. Perfect property - bright and very comfortable. Well equipped too. Ideal for exploring both Suffolk and Norfolk. Close to shopping in Diss and just a short walk from a great pub which does good food too.
Verified Guest
Fantastic place to stay & we can highly recommend it. The bedrooms are spacious and with both having an en-suite, it's an ideal place for couples/family to stay. It has a great outdoor seating area/garden to use weather permitting.
Verified Guest
Lovely accommodation in a nice private, peaceful setting. The Lodge was well equipped and very clean and comfortable. Convenient location for exploring countryside and coast. Good local pub only a short walk away along public footpath. We would definitely book again and would recommend without hesitation.
Verified Guest
Lovely property. Very spacious and comfortable.
Verified Guest
A beautiful and spacious barn in a lovely Sufflok village. Homely without being 'busy', you can relax by the woodburner, sleep peacefully in super-comfortable beds and sit outside by the fire-pit looking at the stars. Stuart is a great host and came round to check we were OK during an unexpected power outage. The candles added to the charm! The location is lovely, near woodland walks and open fields. Downbridge Lodge is well-equipped, well-maintained and well-loved by us!
