What a beautiful, peaceful haven. It is the second time we have visited Brook Lodge and will not hesitate to go back. The lodge is immaculate, the setting is tranquil and private and the whole set-up is perfect if travelling with a dog. We were completely undisturbed and the hot tub is absolutely perfection- clean, clearly highly maintained and in an excellent spot. We can't wait to visit again.

The most lovely lodge very relaxing and we will 100% stay again.

Easy booking with plenty of information beforehand. The lodge was beautiful, masses of space, light, airy and clean. The owners have thought of everything. It's the perfect place to go if you have dogs- secure balcony, beautiful walks and peace and tranquility. We will most definitely be using rural retreats again and revisiting the lodge.
Verified Guest
Nothing is too much trouble and the place is always clean. Lovely views . Been many times and will be back

This was my 6th visit and found the lodge wasn’t as clean as before and looking tired. I am hoping this will be addressed
Verified Guest
Spacious and very comfortable accommodation. Lovely peaceful grounds. Convenient for local venues and good pub.. But technical deficiencies intruded : for example, the dishwasher needs replacing.
Verified Guest
Excellent well appointed accommodation. All staff extremely helpful and pleasant. Great relaxing stay.
Verified Guest
Excellent quality lodge for lovely peaceful break. Lodge itself was huge for 2 people. Deck and hot tub very private and secure for our dog. Excellent walks directly from the lodge. Goody hamper had some lovely treats as well as everyday basics. Only slight criticism was that the grass and bushes had been left to grow - which whilst I appreciate is good for nature, we felt that it all looked a bit overgrown and didn't have the lovely grass area out of the front of the lodges as all the pictures show!

Brook Lodge was stunning!! We fell in love with it as soon as we opened the doors. The open plan kitchen/living room was spacious, light and well laid out. A really comfortable recliner sofa. Every possibility was catered for in the kitchen. The bathroom was so luxurious with a huge stand alone bath and a waterfall shower. The bedroom was spacious, lots of storage and the bath robes were a welcome treat. The hot tub was set to temperature on arrival and we certainly took advantage of that during our stay. A very thoughtful welcome basket awaited us in the kitchen along with milk, cheese, butter, bread, tea, coffee and grapes in the fridge, unexpected, but most appreciated. We had a Sainsbury's delivery come that day, but it allowed us to have a lovely cup of tea with biscuits whilst we waited. There is a veranda that goes the whole way around the sides and back of the property with two recline beds for relaxing a table and chairs with umbrella if you want to eat outside, along with the hot tub. You have your own gate that leads down some steps to the meadow and fields below and a brick BBQ. There are four other lodges, but they are set back enough and have lots of shrubbery to feel you have total privacy. The grounds are amazing. We took our two dogs with us and we enjoyed some lovely walks, despite one day of rain. Free wi-fi and smart tv ensured we could enterain ourselves in the evenings. A very informative booklet was available, detailing local restaurants, pubs, walks etc, as well as in the surrounding areas. menus for local restaurants that deliver and booklets about places of interest were also included. Everything you need to know about the lodge, the equipment, etc was covered. I could go on for ever, we can't praise it enough. We will most definitely come back. It is perfect for all year round visits, I imagine Christmas with snow would be amazing. 5 star luxury across the board. You won't be disappointed. Don't delay, book now!

Verified Guest
Luxury accommodation in great private spot. We’ve stayed in some great holiday homes and this one ranks at the top. Would definitely book again.
Verified Guest
The accommodation and location were excellent and exactly what we were hoping for. A perfect place to take dogs; you can feel safe and there are lovely walks straight from your doorstep. Very helpful and responsive owners (the sun unexpectedly appeared and we had a requested sun shade delivered within 30 minutes).
Verified Guest
The first impressions were fantastic, great location, fantastic lodge very well equipped. We wanted a quite holiday break with the dogs where we could walk in quiet locations. this was 100% achieved. Only a handful of lodges spaciously apart and positioned perfectly so you can enjoy your own comforts without being imposed on by others. We would recommend this property. We would like to say thank you for making our holiday exactly how we like it. The Swan pub 3 minutes drive away also does excellent food.
Verified Guest
Really lovely quiet and secluded lodge but a few little criticisms. Fan in bathroom didn’t work and we thought it was too dark in there. Could do with some light over the mirror. Electrics were a bit ‘iffy’ and the living room socket only worked intermittently. We found somebody else’s dirty socks in the wardrobe. The front door definitely needs some lubrication, and the road to the lodge had quite a few potholes and ruts. These were understandable at the start of the track where building work was going on, but they went beyond that area. It would be quite easy to fill them in.
Verified Guest
Superb lodge in beautiful setting. Clean, spacious, comfortable, private and the hot tub is the icing on the cake! Will be back soon.
Verified Guest
Absolutely loved our stay. The lodge was perfect. Will definitely return!
